Always allow your candle to completely liquify across the top before snuffing it out to avoid tunneling. 
Reset the wicks once the candle is snuffed.
Don't drop debris into the wax.
Discontinue burning your candle when about a 1/2in of wax remains. 
Repurpose that Beauty!
